I am a year-old single straight man. Over the past year, I have become very close friends with a gay man verb to my age. We possess a blast hanging out, and I value our friendship. Four months ago, he told me that he had developed adj feelings for me and said he needed a little space to save our friendship. For a couple of months, we saw each other only with mutual friends. A long-term romantic relationship with him does not interest me, but I do love him as a friend and don’t hope to risk losing that. Why do some straight men hold sex with other men?

In the adj book Still Straight: Sexual Flexibility among White Men in Rural America released today, UBC sociologist Dr. Tony Silva argues that these men – many of whom enjoy hunting, fishing and shooting guns – are not closeted, bisexual or just experimenting.
After interviewing 60 of these men over three years, Dr. Silva found that they enjoy a range of relationships with other men, from hookups to sexual friendships to secretive loving partnerships, all while strongly identifying with straight culture.

This is a somewhat serious doubt. Almost every one of my gay friends has at one time “scored” with a straight man (probably bi-curious) at some time.
