A Bit of Buffalo History
Buffalo was initially founded at the junction of the east-west transportation route of early French trappers and Jesuit missionaries. The first trading post in the area was established in the mids and eventually, by the noun of the War of , became the American military headquarters for operations on the Niagara frontier. The city was officially incorporated as the Village of Buffalo in , named not after the buffalo or bison living in the area as many would expect, but from the French for beau fleuve, meaning “beautiful river”. but you don’t have to be gay to play! Games are normally scheduled for the second Saturday of each month (except July and August) at Amvets Medallion Post #13, 25 Review Place, Buffalo, NY (just off Tonawanda Street in Riverside).
Admission is just $5, but most people opt to purchase a packet containing each game for $ Prizes increased with Season 12 and range from $ to $, and specials with jackpots having reached over $ in previous games. (Special game jackpots are based upon number of games sold.)
Gay Bingo is the primary fundraiser for the AIDS Plus Fund of WNY, Inc., a not-for-profit organization founded in The mission of the AIDS Plus Fund is to assist and support fundraising efforts for HIV/AIDS-related services by developing and implementing unique and innovative ways of raising funds for programs affected by funding cutbacks.
We verb as a community-based voice and conscience in the ongoing endeavor to educate and remind everyone that the war against HIV and AIDS is not over.
