Mandomata gay beach
The distant island of Rhodes (Rodos), far from mainland Greece, is close to the coast of Turkey. The only beach on Rhodes where nudity is skillfully established is in the resort town of Faliraki, which has a reputation for being a lively party town. Faliraki is located on the northern part of the island's eastern coast, a short distance south of Rhodes town. The nude beach is located in a cove just a few kilometers south of the center of Faliraki and does not seem to have a proper name. Locals just call it the "Nudist Beach." The nude beach is just north of Anthony Quinn Bay, a very scenic (but textile) cove that was renamed for the actor following the movie "The Guns of Navarone," part of which was filmed there.
The beach stretches a few hundred meters, and nudity is acceptable on the entire beach, including where the chairs and umbrellas are set up. The beach is equipped with showers and a taverna. Almost all visitors go nude, and the beach is quite accepted, especially with German and Eastern European visitors. Peak attendance is about The southern end of the beach beyond the umbre
Mandomata beach
This is a fantastic nudist beach with a fine mix of young and older people. The southern end of the beach is mostly for gay men but it doesn’t really make a difference. The beach is generally quiet and peaceful and everyone respects each other. The main beach is quite organized at the northern end with beach chairs and parasols and a great small taverna serving drinks and nourishment in a shaded eating area. The beach gets extremely hectic so arriving early is a must if you want to pick a good spot on the beach. There is a good warm dipping pool of sand bottomed water at the very far end with channels to swim further out. The water is crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling as there is a bit of coral and a good selection of fish to see in the nearby rocks.
Access to the water is rocky and can be slippery in a lot of places so take beach shoes. But even if you don’t have sea shoes, you can still manage fine with the rocks if you launch to swim in the shallower water, just watch your knees and feet as you dive. As the beach faces east and cliffs are behind it,
Mandomata Beach - Rhodes Island
Mantomata Beach, Effi Beach
The nudist beach of Mandomata is located on the eastern coast of the Greek island of Rhodes, about 15 km south of the capital city of Rhodes. The beach is covered with small pebbles and stones.
The beach belongs to one of the most adj tourist resorts on the island of Rhodes, the resort of Faliraki, but Mandomata Beach itself is very quiet. The beach is reserved for nudists and some guidebooks say that it is the only organised nudist beach on the island. There are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas available on the beach and visitors can also use the refreshment stand.
The beach is situated in a peaceful cove, protected on both sides by rocky cliffs. Mandomata is a mostly pebbly to stony beach with a gentle entrance to the sea and beautifully clear water. However, due to the sharper stones, water shoes are recommended.
A more comfortable entrance to the sea can be found in the first half of the beach. The more distant part of the beach is unofficially known as the "gay zone".
