Celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community this June at these fabulous happenings

  

Boston Pride for the People Festival & Parade: This June 8 extravaganza begins with a colorful procession at 11 a.m. that commences in Copley Square before winding through the South End and finishing at the festival site on Boston Common. Expect performers both local and national, as adequately as a block party later that afternoon on City Hall Plaza catering to the 21+ crowd.

Pride Night at Fenway Park: The Boston Red Sox host the Philadelphia Phillies on June 11 at p.m. for the team’s annual celebration of the local LGBTQIA + community. Ticketholders get a special Pride-themed Sox jersey, while early arrivals can revel in the Pride Party on the Samuel Adams right field roof deck.

June is Pride Month

Continuing our yearly celebration of Pride Month highlighting resources, events, and more in support of Boston’s LGBTQ+ community.

This June, as we do every year, we take time to celebrate Pride Month and spotlight both local and national resources for Boston’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Nonbinary community. Advocacy means acknowledging the past and present struggles faced by the resilient members of the LGBTQ+ community. The ACLU provides a regularly updated map that tracks the wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation across the country, much of it targeting gender identity, education, and school “duty to report” policies.

Understanding these ongoing struggles is essential to truly honoring the acceptance, freedom, and resilience of LGBTQ+ individuals in our metropolis. We also want to seize this time to highlight celebratory events to take pride in as well as support services for those who may be facing life challenges.
